While the original of this song is undeniably catchy – it’s Bieber and Jack Ü, and pretty basic. Enter Papermind’s remix of Ember Island’s cover. It’s killer. Sometimes, over-straining on the vocal, a la Bieber, really takes away from the meaning behind the words. Similarly, when there’s real meaning behind the words, subtle production is more effective. That’s the case here, and Papermind’s ambient, beautiful remix is reminiscent of Deadmau5 circa ’09, with modern elements. Check out the original song here, and Ember Island’s cover here for comparison. Also, don’t forget to take advantage of the free DL of this remix here 🙂
Ed Sheeran covered OT Genasis, and Hitimpulse remixed it. Thanks, guys. Ed is undeniably one of the most talented musicians in the industry right now, and this cover/remix is undeniably a thousand times better than the original song. It has a chill, Flume-y vibe, and Hitimpulse balanced production and vocals impeccably. Generosity is a beautiful thing, and there’s a free DL here.
Taking on Sam Smith is no small feat, but Jasmine Thompson is no small singer. Well she is, at 14 years old, but she has a voice well beyond her years. This tropical house remix of Stay With Me is an enormous departure from the original, but equally incredible. It’s a mellow blend of Jasmine’s vocals and Matthew Heyer’s chill production, and it’s sure to put you in a great mood. Get the free download here!
It’s pretty ballsy to take on a song by a former Beatle, but that’s just what Mark Tarmonea did, and thank goodness he did. This mellow tropical house cover features Mark Tarmonea on vocals and production. It’s a total departure from the original, which is probably why it works so well. If you’re going to take on such a classic song, simply reproducing it is boring. That’s not the case here, so good job Mark! 🙂
Taking on a Beyonce song is a pretty massive feat, and most people probably shouldn’t try to attempt it. Some should, though, and MLAD and Daniel de Bourg definitely should have. This deep house cover is haunting and beautifully produced from start to finish. Daniel de Bourg’s voice is perfect for the cover, and the final result is so drastically different from Beyonce’s original that it basically isn’t the same song. Get the free download here.
Kungs can pretty much do no wrong (check out this cover/remix of West Coast), and his newest remix is no exception. It’s deep, a little tropical, and very easy to listen to.
Jasmine Thompson’s original cover was gorgeous, but this remix takes it to a whole new level. It has components of deep and tropical house, but it’s really indescribable. You just have to listen to it.
