Safe and Sound – Capital Cities (6ig Angu5 Remix)

6ig Angu5 takes everything from classic rock songs to contemporary pop songs and remixes them into tropical house delicacies. This remix of Safe and Sound is no exception, and it’s in line with the rest of his unexpected work. Where some producers may falter and create something that doesn’t seem quite right, he manages to mix genres beautifully to bring us a different sound that stands out against the tropical house being produced right now. I See Cali – The Jane Doze (Kygo x Ed Sheeran x Notorious B.I.G.)

Uh, this combination is genius. Nothing gets more California than tropical house and Going Back to Cali, despite Biggie’s East Coast origins. This is just perfect, there are very few words (as a California native) that can express how perfect it is. The Jane Doze laid Going Back to Cali over Kygo’s remix of I See Fire by Ed Sheeran, and the result is tropical yet gangster in the best of ways. Here’s to hoping The Jane Doze get their summer in New York soon, but maybe in the meantime get those asses to California 😉

It is absolutely in your best interests to get that free DL here. Also, give these ladies some major love on Hype Machine here.

Stay With Me – Sam Smith (Matthew Heyer and Jasmine Thompson Remix)

Taking on Sam Smith is no small feat, but Jasmine Thompson is no small singer. Well she is, at 14 years old, but she has a voice well beyond her years. This tropical house remix of Stay With Me is an enormous departure from the original, but equally incredible. It’s a mellow blend of Jasmine’s vocals and Matthew Heyer’s chill production, and it’s sure to put you in a great mood. Get the free download here!

Baba O’Riley – The Who (6ig angu5 Remix)

You’d probably never expect a tropical house remix of The Who, but here it is, and it’s really good. It’s just the right amount of tropical that it doesn’t overpower the original song. It’s a fresh update that some hardcore fans of The Who will either love or hate. Regardless, any fan of good tropical house music will appreciate this take on the song. Get the free download here!

Stole the Show – Kygo ft. Parson James

Kygo is back with another original, and it’s even better than Firestone. Parson James kills it on the vocals, and Kygo’s tropical sound is evident (and amazing) throughout. You’d think that bouncy tropical house wouldn’t work with such sad lyrics, but for whatever reason it does. If Kygo keeps this up, in conjunction with his huge upcoming shows, he’s going to run the scene for many years to come.

Fast Car – Boyce Avenue ft. Kinna Grannis (FlyBoy Remix)

Warning: you will not be able to take this off repeat. This tropical remix of Boyce Avenue from FlyBoy is incredibly addictive. It transitions perfectly from the vocal sections to the tropical breakdowns, it builds nicely, and maintains a great melody throughout. It’s great for a long drive up the coast, with all the windows down… pretty much exactly what this genre is meant for. All you need to do for the free download is follow FlyBoy on Facebook here.

Imagine – John Lennon (Mark Tarmonea Cover)

It’s pretty ballsy to take on a song by a former Beatle, but that’s just what Mark Tarmonea did, and thank goodness he did. This mellow tropical house cover features Mark Tarmonea on vocals and production. It’s a total departure from the original, which is probably why it works so well. If you’re going to take on such a classic song, simply reproducing it is boring. That’s not the case here, so good job Mark! 🙂

Thinking of You – SKLA

Thinking of You is a mellow downtempo blend of deep and tropical, paired with a great vocal that floats over the instrumental nicely. It’s super catchy, and very chill, but fast-paced enough to make you want to dance. It’s on the longer side for a song, at a little over 9 minutes, but it’s worth the full listen. Comparable to Strobe, arguably Deadmau5’s best song, it builds upon itself until you’re floating and don’t know how you got there. Enjoy, and get the free download here.

All We Do – Oh Wonder (LYAR Remix)

This stunning, chilled out remix of Oh Wonder’s All We Do is truly incredible. It combines elements of melodic and tropical house, and perfectly balances ambience with depth. LYAR has produced one of the very best Oh Wonder remixes to date, and it’s worth many listens and shares. Vote for it on Hype Machine here, and don’t forget to take advantage of the free download 🙂
